You are invited to attend a workshop, Mentoring Undergraduates in Research: A Workshop for Graduate Students Sponsored by the office of Honors and Undergraduate Research at Texas A&M University Date: Wednesday, September 11, 2013 Time: 11:30 – 1:30 pm Location: Memorial Student Center, Room 2406A Come to an interactive workshop that will focus on what works in mentoring undergraduate researchers. A panel of graduate student mentors will talk about their experiences. Some of the topics will include: • Transforming an undergraduate researcher from a novice to a contributor • Successful work and meeting schedules • Keeping students motivated • Responsibilities of graduate student mentors in passing on research ethics and conventions of the discipline • Strategies for dealing with problems or issues We welcome those who are new to mentoring undergraduate researchers!
