The Confucius Institute at Texas A&M University cordially invites you to this year’s Lunar New Year Celebration and Dinner at Sbisa Dining Center at 6:00 pm on January 29th. The celebration promises to be a wonderful evening full of Asian cuisine, traditional Asian activities, as well as a traditional Lion Dance and Kung Fu presentation outside Sbisa. Tickets for the Asian dinner buffet inside Sbisa are available at the door for $10.00 for adults (meal plans are allowed); $5.00 for Children ages 3 to 10, and free for children 3 and under. This year we will also offer pre-sale tickets at a discounted price (see below). Texas A&M University Lunar New Year Celebrations: Year of the Horse Schedule of Events, Wednesday– January 29, 2014 Cultural Events inside Sbisa Dining Hall* 6:00 to 9:00 PM – Calligraphy Demonstration 6:00 to 9:00 PM – Zodiac Animal Temporary Tattoos 6:00 to 9:00 PM - Beijing Opera Mask Interactive Activity 6:00 to 9:00 PM – Paper Cutting Interactive Activity Public Events in front of Sbisa Dining Center 7:30 -8:00 PM – Lion Dance & Kung Fu Presentation by Houston’s Shi Xing Hao Shaolin Kung Fu Academy *Once you have paid inside Sbisa, you will be given a wristband which will allow you to view the outdoor performance and return indoors to eat or partake in the various activities. Indoor cultural activities are only accessible to celebrants who will be dining at Sbisa. Tickets for the Asian dinner buffet are available at the door for $10.00 (meal plans are allowed); $5.00 for Children aged 3 to 10, and free for children 3 and under. This year we will also offer pre-sale tickets at a discounted price (see below). The closest parking garage to Sbisa Dining Hall is the Northside Parking Garage (found here). After 5:00 pm, this lot is $0.50 per hour.
