Event Type
Seminar
Date
Tuesday, October 2, 2012
Time
11:10 am – 12:10 pm
Description
Please join us as Eric Rowell from the Math Department at TAMU presents his talk "Locality in Quantum Computation: Part II."

Short abstract: The quantum circuit and topological models for quantum computation are computationally equivalent in the sense that suitably chosen models in each setting can efficiently simulate a universal model in the other setting. I will discuss several recent attempts to refine this theoretical result to a more practical, hybrid model. This is based upon joint work with Zhenghan Wang. Part I will be summarized in case you missed it.
